Beginning of December

 The past couple of weeks in Room 5, we a have been,

-learning about area and perimeter in math

-doing brainbashers and solve me puzzles

-talking about patterns on a multiplication chart, practicing basic multiplication facts and relating them to division

-learning about producers, consumers and decomposers and food chains

-we are focusing on Waste, recycling and composting and had a presentation from Green Calgary where students were challenged to build a model of a landfill that could prevent leachate from seeping into the water

-working on our social studies research about the Alberta regions and beginning to put our information into a slide show

-we used tinkercad to create something to represent our Alberta region (animal, landform, plant, natural resource) and hope to 3d print them next week.

-word work/spelling: learning about homophones, words ending with 'le' and how to add 'ing' to different words (double last consonant, drop e or do nothing)

-did some fibonacci art

-painted landscapes of Alberta

-focused on the 5W's about an article about waste

-we continue to read "The Wild Robot" 

Kids need a flashlight for music. No school tomorrow
