Week of Feb. 20
We started our week with a trip to Heritage Park. Students learned what life was like in Alberta in the early 1900's. Each student received a day pass to use at Heritage Park that they brought home on Friday. -we learned about the settlers, railroad, made butter, saw a sod house and did some word working -we played a fur trade game at school by doing a scavenger hunt for beaver pelts and trading them for different supplies then explained why we chose the items we did -we continue to focus on paragraphs and turned our worm research into an informative paragraph -we are showing different strategies and ways to model division in math -we looked at some petroglyphs from Writing on Stone and will work on some symbol stories in the upcoming week
